CIMB Islamic Highlights

CIMB Harapan Ramadan 2025

CIMB reaffirms its long-standing commitment to community upliftment through CIMB Harapan Ramadan 2025 - the Group’s most significant initiative to date under this programme. With contributions exceeding RM2.2 million, the initiative has reached over 40,000 beneficiaries across 109 locations nationwide, including communities in Sabah and Sarawak.

Driven by the collective efforts of more than 800 dedicated CIMB employees from both headquarters and branches, the programme was led by CIMB Islamic and CIMB Foundation in collaboration with Islamic Relief Malaysia and Yayasan Belia Malaysia. This initiative reflects CIMB’s steadfast commitment to advancing both customers and society through purposeful and inclusive engagement.

Further amplifying its impact, CIMB introduced CIMB Harapan Ramadan Berkat Bersama, a mini Ramadan bazaar held at the MRT bridge between Muzium Negara and KL Sentral from 10 – 14 March 2025. This initiative provided a platform for alumni of CIMB’s entrepreneurship programmes to generate additional income ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, supporting their journey towards economic empowerment.

In addition, CIMB’s senior leadership engaged directly with community members during special buka puasa gatherings, organised under the Program Satu Kampung Satu Pemimpin initiative. These engagements offered valuable insights into the unique challenges faced by various communities and will help shape future programmes that deliver sustainable and meaningful outcomes.

Through CIMB Harapan Ramadan 2025, the Group continues to embody the true spirit of Ramadan - promoting hope, empowerment, and community well-being.

Program Satu Pemimpin Satu Kampung

CIMB launched the Program Satu Pemimpin Satu Kampung (Santuni MADANI), a community empowerment initiative set to benefit 9,000 residents across four People’s Housing Project (PPR) locations in the Klang Valley - PR Pinggiran Bukit Jalil 2, Lembah Subang, Perumahan Awam Seri Selangor, and Seri Alam.

With a commitment of RM3.6 million over two years, the programme aims to drive meaningful impact through upskilling, education, and the development of sustainable livelihoods.

The programme was officially launched at PPR Pinggiran Bukit Jalil 2 by the Minister of Finance I, YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan. The event was graced by distinguished guests including Dato’ Seri TPr (Dr.) Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Mayor of Kuala Lumpur; Tan Sri Mohd Nasir Ahmad, Chairman of CIMB Group; Novan Amirudin, Group Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Group; Gurdip Singh Sidhu, Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Malaysia and CIMB Bank Berhad; and Ahmad Shahriman Mohd Shariff, Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad.
